Whether you are interested in mountain walking or history, bird watching or fishing, sightseeing, shopping or just relaxing, you've found the right place. The Valencia region offers you all the above, all year round.
There's too many attractions to cover, so here's just a little information about the surrounding area and some of the things you can do.

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and only 40 minutes drive from us. Here you'll find many museums, shops, cafes and restaurants among cultural and architectural treasures such as the Lonja, which is listed as a World Heritage site.

There's so many fiestas in this region. Valencia City of arts and sciences One of the best known ones is Las Fallas in Valencia city, which is held in March, and people from all over the world come to the city to enjoy this unique "fiesta of fire" (lots of very loud fireworks!). Other towns in the region, such as Xátiva, Gandia, Cullera, Benidorm, etc., also hold their Fallas.

The picture above is the City of the Arts and Sciences in Valencia,
now considered as one of the major leisure complexes in Europe.

Like the beach ?
Then you won't be disappointed here.

Gandia, (only 15 minutes away), has a fabulous 5 kilometer stretch of white sand beach.

And shopping?

Gandia town has more shops and restaurants than you could
possibly ask for, as well as lots of historical and cultural spots.

Xátiva, 10 minutes away, is a town also worth a visit. It has a bull ring and you can see bull fighting some weekends. If you are feeling energetic, walk up the hill and visit the magnificent castle. Some parts of the foundations date back the 10th century.
Xativa Castle

Albaida is a smaller, but interesting, town to visit. It has got a number of surprisingly good museums and is also well known for its textile and lace.

If you are staying with us in August, why don't you take part in the "Grape Festival" in
La Pobla del Duc (messy but fun). As you might have figured out, they produce some wine as well.

Quatretonda is our nearest town. In June, it hold its own "Bull Run" (actually, you run, the bulls chase you - not for the faint hearted.)

If you love mountain walking, there are numerous trails in/around this area. There is a complete network of well-signposted Long-Distance and Short-Distance routes which cross the whole Valencian region from north to south and from east to west, linking various towns and villages.
You can even start walking up into hills from our door step, through rosemary bushes and wildflowers. Julia's B&B will prepare packed lunches for you if you wish.
Smell the wild herbs and enjoy the lovely views and masses of wildflowers!
